April Fool’s Prank Gives Pet Owners Good Laugh
Bay County saw plenty of pranks for April Fool’s Day Pranks all across town. One prank in particular is making people talk.
A radio announcement, presented by Magic Radio, warned people about a pet tax deadline approaching. The announcement said the deadline was on April 2nd. The tax would be a special way to fund the new Federal Healthcare plan. Taxable amounts would be determined by breed, and size of the pet. The announcement aired on Island 106 Radio and other stations in the area.
People all across Bay County got fired up about it.
“We didn’t’ know anything about it. It was kind of news to us. I was getting calls from different people throughout the county saying they were upset,” Bay County public information officer Valerie Lovett said.
Nonetheless, the announcement was a joke. Several people got a good laugh out of it.
